About The Polar Express Trivia

The Polar Express released November 10, 2004. Directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump). Based on Chris Van Allsburg's 1985 children's book (which won the Caldecott Medal). Tom Hanks performed motion-capture for FIVE characters: Hero Boy, Father, Conductor, Hobo, and Santa Claus — plus narrated. Made $314M box office. Was the first all-digital motion-capture full-length feature film, paving the way for Avatar and other mo-cap features.

Setting: Christmas Eve, a young boy boards a magical train to the North Pole to meet Santa. Iconic moments: the Hot Chocolate dance scene; 'All aboard!'; the boy who 'just doesn't believe'; the Santa bell that only believers can hear; ringing the bell sequence; Know-It-All character; the climactic train ride. Soundtrack featured 'Believe' by Josh Groban (Academy Award nominated for Best Original Song). Was the first animated film to win the BAFTA for Best Visual Effects. The book's iconic line: 'The bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe.'
